RULES AND REGULATIONS
 
 
It is the intent of River Hills Club of Jackson (the "Club") to establish only those Rules
and Regulations necessary to ensure the mutual enjoyment of the Club by its members
and their guests.
 
The responsibility for enforcing these Rules and Regulations rests primarily with Club management, whose goal is to provide members with the courtesies, services, and enjoyable atmosphere expected of a private club. The Club reserves the right to amend or modify these Rules and Regulations from time to time in its sole discretion.
 
Members are expected to become familiar with these Rules and Regulations and to cooperate with Club management and staff in their enforcement. Compliance by all members helps preserve the quality of the Club experience for everyone.
 
HOUSE RULES
  1. Members may enter the Grill in tennis clothes or in dry bathing suits with proper covering. Service is available on the Veranda from Slew’s for people in tennis clothes or dry bathing suits with proper covering.
  2. Unescorted children are not permitted on the second floor or second floor administrative offices.
  3. No person who is less than twenty-one (21) years of age will be served beer nor other alcoholic beverages. Our employees and management have been instructed that any exception to this rule will mean discharge for the offending employee. No one under the age of 21 is allowed in Slew’s Lounge unless accompanied by an individual who is 21 or older.
  4. No child under eighteen (18) years of age may enter the locker room unless accompanied by a parent.
  5. Parents are charged with the supervision of their children on Club property, to ensure their safety and their compliance with Club rules and regulations.
  6. No animals are allowed on the Club property.
  7. All Guests must be accompanied by a River Hills Member.
SWIMMING POOL RULES
  1. The Swimming Pool will officially open at the discretion of Club Management. Generally, the Swimming Pool will open daily beginning Memorial Day through Labor Day.
  2. No person shall enter the water until lifeguards declare the pool open or remain after lifeguards declare the pool closed.
  3. CLUB MEMBERS twenty-one (21) years of age or older may utilize the pool AT THEIR OWN RISK during daylight hours. All adults wishing to swim during any period when a lifeguard is not on duty must have a Release on file with Club Management.
  4. No glass containers are permitted in the pool area or the cement terraces surrounding the pool area.
  5. No food or beverages of any kind may be consumed in the pool area unless purchased from the Club. Outside coolers are not allowed.
  6. No children eight (8) years or younger should be left in or around the pool area unattended. The attending person should be at least fifteen (15) years old and an able swimmer.
  7. All pool activities and discipline of pool patrons will be under the supervision of the Pool Manager and/or the lifeguards. All orders of the Pool Manager and lifeguards must be obeyed promptly. Unbecoming conduct will not be tolerated and may be punishable by expulsion from the pool area.
  1. Pool Management and lifeguards MAY prohibit the use of toys, floats, beach balls and other sports equipment to enhance the safety of the pool. Tennis balls are not permitted in the pool area.
  2. No running, throwing, rough-housing, wrestling or boisterous conduct is permitted in the pool area.
  3. Only one person at a time is allowed to go down the slide.
  4. Only one person at a time is permitted on the diving board. No running is allowed on the diving board.
  5. No floatation devices are allowed on the diving board, slide or the deep end of the pool.
  6. No swimming during electrical storms or heavy rain. Pool Management and/or lifeguards maintain the authority to clear the pool and pool area due to inclement weather.
  7. All patrons must register at the Pool area.
  8. Appropriate swimwear must be worn in the pool. Cutoffs, tennis clothes, thongs, and golf clothes are not acceptable as swim attire.
  9. The pool complex is a smoke-free, tobacco-free and vape-free facility.
  10. A person regularly employed by a Member as a babysitter or housekeeper who accompanies the Member’s children to the pool or Teen Wing in order to supervise the activities of the children shall not be considered a guest and will not be required to pay any guest fee as long as they are directly supervising the children of Members. Such individuals must sign in at the Cabana, as is required by all patrons of the Swimming Pool or pool areas.
  11. Private parties for the Swimming Pool and/or Teen Wing must be scheduled through the Club Events Director.
  12. The Club will not be responsible for personal belongings or valuables left in the pool area, to include the restrooms or the Teen Wing.
Guest Policies:
  • All guests must be accompanied by a River Hills Member and must sign in before entering the pool area.
  • Guest fees are $10 per person, with a maximum of $40 per guest family.
  • Guests are expected to abide by all rules and regulations or may be asked to leave.
  • Out of town house guests are charged no guest fee and are not restricted on the number of visits.
  • Members are responsible for their guests’ conduct and any indebtedness or liability incurred by the guest.
  • A one-time recruitment family guest pass may be obtained from the River Hills Membership Director. Any such pass must be obtained from the Membership Director 24 hours in advance of the visit during normal office hours, and the name and contact information of each visiting family member must be provided to the Membership Director for recruiting purposes.
  • Members of other in-town clubs can charge their guest fee to their reciprocal club but must be a guest of a River Hills Member and accompanied by that Member to use the pool or pool area, including the Teen Wing.
  1. Pool Management and the lifeguards are required to enforce these rules and regulations and they have the authority to require violators to leave the pool and pool area. Continued violation or refusal to comply with pool Rules and Regulations shall be reported to the General Manager and the Board of Directors.
  2. Supplemental regulations, beyond those included herein, may be issued by Pool Management and/or the lifeguards at their discretion to ensure the safety and health of all.
TEEN WING RULES
  1. The Teen Wing is intended for ages 8 and up.
  2. To enter the Teen Wing, you must be a River Hills Member or registered guest accompanied by a River Hills Member.
  3. Guest Policies: Please see Swimming Pool Rules. Guest Policies. The River Hills Member is responsible for his/her guest’s conduct and any indebtedness or liability incurred by the guest.
  4. Please dry off before entering. No wet swim suits.
  5. Any rowdy, non-appropriate behavior will not be permitted. In the interest of safety, no running, rough-housing, wrestling, horseplay or other boisterous conduct will be allowed in the Teen Wing. Profanity will not be tolerated. Discipline of the Teen Wing patrons will be under the supervision of the Pool Manager and/or the lifeguards and all orders must be obeyed promptly. Unbecoming conduct will not be tolerated and may be punishable by expulsion from the Teen Wing.
  1. Any destructive activity or behavior may result in a fine, or suspension from the Club, or both if deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors. Amounts of fines will be determined and levied by the General Manager and/or the Board of Directors.
  2. Furniture and game equipment is not to be moved from designated area without approval of the Pool Manager.
  3. No food or beverages may be consumed in the Teen Wing unless purchased from the Club.
TENNIS COURT RULES
  1. All court reservations must be made through the Pro Shop, the Club website, or the Club app.
  2. Reservations may be made three (3) days in advance.
  3. All players must check in at the Pro Shop and the names and numbers of all persons, including guests, on the courts shall be on the reservation sheet. Players must be present on the court within fifteen (15) minutes or the court can be forfeited.
  4. When players change courts from one reserved court to another, they must report to the Pro Shop to verify change.
  5. Children will be assigned the C Courts and the back tier rubico courts for periods of one and one-half (1½) hours, if these courts have not been reserved or taken at change-over time. This will be determined by the Pro Shop. Children will be charged the same fees for guest and penalties as apply to adults and shall conform to the above rules. Parents who give their children priority waive their tennis playing rights at the Club. (A child under ten (10) is not permitted on a court unattended.)
  6. No person shall enter the tennis court area until the courts are ready for play on authority of the Pro Shop professional.
  7. The Pro Shop Manager or tennis professionals have the authority to move groups under the lights at night to conserve energy. Groups may be moved from A tier to B tier if it will permit turning off some lights.
  8. No person shall play on the tennis courts except in proper tennis attire, including shirts, shorts, dresses, and smooth bottom tennis shoes. No gym shorts or cut-off blue jeans are allowed.
  9. Quiet is requested on all courts and areas surrounding the tennis courts.  Players and spectators or persons using the walks between the courts shall remain as quiet as possible and refrain from making loud noises.
  10. The tennis courts and tennis court area should be used for tennis or spectating only.
  1. Players shall not invade or walk on other player's courts. The walk-ways between the courts are designed to permit players to reach their assigned courts without walking across the courts of others. Running or playing in the walkways is prohibited.
  2. Any team member playing on a River Hills league team must be a member of River Hills. League teams playing on a home basis will not be charged guest fees but are subject to applicable league fees, for the visiting teams.
  3. Enforcement and compliance of these rules is charged to the Club manager, the tennis professional, the tennis committee and the Board of Directors. Violators may be asked to leave or be suspended. Continued violations or refusals to comply shall be reported to the Board of Directors.
  4. Guest Policies:
    • In accordance with the Bylaws of the Club, all non-members are considered guests. A guest, when accompanied by a member, or a member's spouse or child, is permitted to use the courts in the indoor center with the following stipulations:
    • In town guests can play no more than two (2) times a month. A guest card must be filled out with each visit before entering the court.
    • A non-member taking a tennis lesson shall not be subject to the monthly limitation, however, a Non-Member Lesson fee will be charged for each less. He or she may be accompanied solely by a tennis professional on staff at the Club.
    • Guest fees for using the courts or the indoor center are twenty dollars ($20.00). An out-of-town house guest of a member may play without guest fee.
    • Any member failing to register a guest at the pro shop prior to play will be charged ten dollars ($10) plus the guest fee for the first offense and twenty-five dollars ($25) plus the guest fee for the second offense and all succeeding offenses.
    • Guest fees and fines are determined by the Board of Directors and subject to change.
INDOOR CENTER RULES
  1. All members must sign in and out at the front desk.
  2. No running or horseplay is allowed.
  3. Appropriate workout and/or tennis attire is required. No sandals. No swim suits without cover-ups are allowed in the indoor center.
  4. Weight Room:
    • No children under the age of 13 allowed unless accompanied by a parent.
  • Children ages 10-13 must be accompanied by an adult and participate in a young fitness orientation.
  • Rack weight plates, dumbbells and bars after use.
  • All members must be in proper workout attire and footwear. No sandals.
  • No outside trainers are allowed without written permission from the General Manager.
  1. Indoor Courts:
    • Three (3) hour notice is required to cancel indoor court reservations. Your account will be charged if this requirement is not met.
    • An indoor court can be booked three (3) days in advance. If you cannot reach anyone by phone to make a reservation, please leave a message with your name, member number and phone number.
    • Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or an adult and the reservation must be made by an adult.
    • No horseplay or hitting tennis balls against the wall.
  2. Aerobic Room:
    • The aerobics room may be used for a fee of $10 per hour. Only River Hills members can reserve aerobics room. An additional $10 fee will be charged if the room is not left in clean condition.
    • Please speak to an indoor center employee to reserve the room.
    • The account charged for the room will be the responsible party.
  3. Kids’ Club:
    • No sick children are allowed in the Kids’ Club.
    • The Kids’ Club is open to children ages 6 months to 6 years only.
    • Parents must remain on Club property at all times.
    • The Kids’ Club has a 2-hour time limit.
    • The Kids’ Club has a maximum occupancy limit.
  4. Guest Policies:
    • All guests must be with a River Hills Club member and must register at the front desk.
    • Guest fee of $20.00 for use of the gym or the indoor courts. There is no fee for an out-of-town houseguest.
    • Guests are allowed two (2) times a month.
    • Guests who are members of an approved reciprocal club may charge applicable guest fees to their home club. Reciprocal guests must be accompanied by a River Hills Club member at all times while using Club facilities.
